What is Offerings? Offerings is a new worship experience at Jewel City Church on Sundays at 11:45 AM beginning April 26, 2009. Our goal is to create an environment where worship and learning combine to help us establish and strengthen our relationships with a living God.
Is Offerings for you? Different people prefer to worship God in different ways. But here are some different characteristics that make Offerings unique:
* Are dress suits not your thing? Offerings is a casual environment. Jeans and polos are the typical dress attire. But we want people to wear whatever they feel comfortable worshiping in.
* Do you ever wonder what it would be like to change the order of a service? Maybe have worship at the end of service instead of the beginning? Offerings is a worship experience that will constantly explore the many different ways of worshiping God.
* Do you learn better by seeing as well as hearing? At Offerings, we will learn about this wonderful redemption story together. And we will use visuals such as picture and video to help us learn more effectively.
* Do you enjoy different types of music? There is no such thing as “Christian music” or “secular music” at Offerings. We use whatever music we can to help bring us into God’s presence. This means that you are just as likely to hear anything from U2’s “White As Snow” to Gilmore and Bradbury’s “He Leadeth Me: O Blessed Thought” to Bach.
* Do you want more to worship than just singing? Just as God uses all of our senses to draw us closer to Him, Offerings seeks to do the same thing through the use of different mediums. Worship at Offerings is a multi-sensory, participatory experience. We use art, music, movement, and pictures and video to help enhance our worship experiences.
